Even if you’re not in the path of the hurricane, consumers find it helpful to know what to put in an emergency kit. And with all the disaster coverage going on now, they are likely ready to read/hear tips on what to do or not to do in case of a natural disaster.
Here are some resources:
- Your county emergency preparedness office probably has resources available. The one for my county has a household emergency plan and a disaster supplies kit.
- FEMA offers a list for a diaster supplies kit, an evacuation checklist, and information on how much water to store and how to keep it. It also provides a list of types of natural disasters and what to do before, during or after them.
- The Red Cross offers disaster safety tips in Spanish.
